We have been awarded the prestigious Artsmark Silver award by the Arts Council England. 

We were delighted to receive the following feedback:

"Congratulations on your school’s clear commitment to providing rich arts and cultural opportunities for your pupils. The Artsmark process has been a mechanism for reviewing and extending your arts provision so that the learning for all your pupils at Greenway Academy is being enriched and enhanced through cross-curricular, arts-based teaching and a wide range of extra-curricular arts clubs. 

You have raised the profile of the Arts with school stakeholders by ensuring children have regular opportunities to showcase their work in exhibitions, performances and competitions, such as the regional poetry competition where your pupils’ poems were made into plaques and proudly displayed in local parks. Senior leaders evidently recognise the value of the Arts in promoting pupils’ mental health and well-being through provision of therapeutic music and art for vulnerable pupils, which has had a positive effect on individual pupils’ attendance and boosted their self-confidence.  

Furthermore, we recommend the Arts Award programme as a great way of fostering children’s ownership
of their personal progression within the Arts.”
